Settling down, gradually

When you've lived in the west for almost five years and suddenly shift back to India, you can't ignore the many differences between the lifestyle and the people. And even though you were born and brought up here, spent a major part of life with these people, and lived the life like every common man does, you can't ignore and stop complaining about various things and people here. Phew!

Everything apart, what irritates me the most is when any Tom, Dick or Harry walks over to San and pinches her cheeks. It happens so quickly that you can't even react. And why or how will you react? It's a common thing. The way people are these days and the kind of news you get to hear everyday play a major role in making your mind work like that. It's always doubtful about everyone. Can't help!

=========================

San's routine has gone for a toss. She misses her friends, her school, her room, her toys, and everything. When she sees kids dressed up in their uniforms go to school, she too wants to go. But then we'll be moving again next month. (not again!) So it'd be a long time until she starts school. Sigh!

=========================

Hopefully, things (and my mind) will settle down soon, and I'll be back to writing happy yappy dappy posts. :)

  2. ah...same here, in Indian restaurants, they like to pinch children's cheeks. A cultural thing? as for school..i guess, homeschool her for the moment? All the best as you move again.

    1. Yes, Martha. More of a cultural thing, but just because I've not seen this since five years, and I've gotten used to living in a different environment, it's irritating me. We've been teaching her at home, but after the shift, she has lost interest in things that used to interest her. Maybe, after some time, she'll get used to everything and will get back to her normal routine. :)

  3. I'm sure you'll settle down well and San will start making new friends! Children bounce back much faster than adults! Do write a post all about it when you can!

  5. I am sure things will be back to normal soon. Where are you these days? Hope to catch up with you soon. And San will adjust soon, don't worry about it.

  6. Pinching cheeks is totally irritating... Though Zini doesn't let anybody do that and if somebody tries she screams so loudly!!
